BBQ Cook-off Bringing Award Winning Grillers to Laramie

Grillers will be competing for a share of $7,000 in prize money at the IMH Foundation Griller's Cup this Saturday. Judges from the Kansas City Barbecue Society will determine who the Wyoming State Champions are with categories in ribs, chicken, pork and brisket.

A backyard competition will also take place for amateur competitors and they are eligible for prizes decided by the public, which gets to start sampling at noon in the west lower parking lot at Ivinson Memorial Hospital. To sample the food you’ll need BBQ Bucks, which are $1 each and sold in $10 increments at the event. There will be kids activities including face painting, temporary tattoos, sidewalk drawing and bubbles. Plus, I’ll be live on Y95 Country from noon-2 p.m.

The cook-off benefits the IMH Foundation’s Sandy Joy Healthcare Education Scholarship. The scholarship ensures there are funds available to help IMH’s staff continue their education and maintain a high quality of quality of care at IMH.
