Department of Health Releases New Wyoming Cancer Control Plan
The Wyoming Cancer Coalition and the Wyoming Department of Health have released a new plan aimed at combating the effects of cancer felt statewide over the next five years.
The coalition will unveil the Wyoming Cancer Control Plan for 2016-2020 March 4 at 9:30 a.m. at the Ramkota Hotel in Casper.
Jessica Perez, Wyoming Comprehensive Cancer Control Program outreach coordinator at the Wyoming Department of Health says in a press release that the plan was designed with a focus on diagnosis and treatment, early detection, prevention, quality of life, childhood cancer and advocacy.
“To create this plan, WYCC members evaluated the work of the past five years and recommended changes in direction and focus to strengthen the impact of Wyoming’s cancer-fighting efforts,” says Perez. “All Wyoming residents are affected one way or the other by cancer and can have a role in the fight against cancer.”
To register for the March 4 meeting or for more information call Perez at 307-777-3840 or visit fightcancerwy.com.
“We invite residents who are interested in helping accomplish these goals to learn more and to get involved,” says Perez.
