Has The ‘Scrunchie Crush’ Phase Hit Wyoming Kids Yet?
They say trends always come back. Well, the 80s-90s trend of scrunchies are back.
Girls are always looking for a way to hold their hair up so it's not in their face. Sometimes they use scrunchies to hold their hair. A scrunchie is a fabric-covered elastic hair tie to hold hair. Evidently, scrunchies are being used for more than just holding hair, girls are giving them to their crushes at school.
Recently in North Carolina, a woman made a post on Facebook about scrunchies and how her daughter keeps losing them, or so she thought, according to ABC 12. Here is what Emily Covington put on Facebook, "are you tired of wasting money on hair scrunchies? Feel like you're buying them every week? Wondering why your daughter can't keep up with them? Well, let me let you in on a little secret. ....They are being found in the dryer of every boy Mom's home. I'm about to start a lost and found page for them on Facebook or better yet return them to school with a love note for me."
After Emily posted this on Facebook the messages started coming in from mothers all over the country. One message said this, "one week there were all these scrunchies in the dryer, the first batch, I didn't think anything of and tossed them in the trash thinking it was a fluke or maybe even mine that I forgot."
Basically, if a girl gives a boy her scrunchie that means she likes him and he wears it on his wrist.
