Homeless Man Assaulted at Cheyenne Depot
A homeless man was taken to the hospital after he was hit with a metal fence post at the Cheyenne Depot Monday night.
Officer Dan Long, a spokesman for the Cheyenne Police Department, says 43-year-old Gilbert Vigil got into a fight with 49-year-old Robert Robinson around 10 p.m.
"Vigil was intoxicated," said Long. "He hit Robinson with a metal t-post."
Long says Robinson was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center where he was treated for a "cut on his head."
"Robinson was actually issued a citation for fighting," said Long. "Vigil was arrested for aggravated assault."
This is not the first time the two men have had a run-in with police.
