The Cowboy State loves their guns, but do you know how many gun companies operate out of Wyoming? Four gun companies in Wyoming have made the Cowboy State their home. Gunwerks is one of the gun companies in Wyoming, and they just broke ground on a brand-new state-of-the-art facility in Cody. Wyoming Armory, Freedom Arms and Weatherby are the other gun companies operating in Wyoming.
Weatherby is the newest addition to Wyoming. They are a legendary company that was operating in California for 70 years, in 2017 they found a new home in Sheridan, Wyo.
How Wyoming got ranked fourth most dependent state on guns was by calculating the number of firearm jobs per capita to the number of firearms sold per 1,000 residents to gun ownership. There were seven categories all together that was looked at and Wyoming ranked top ten in five of them and top 15 in two of them.
Even though gun sales are down, last year firearms brought in $52 billion to the United States economy and brought in $6.8 billion in federal taxes.
