Wyoming Towns Ranked Among The Least Diverse Cities In America
Wyoming is one of the least diverse places in America, according to a new study comparing over 500 cities and towns nationwide.
Cheyenne ranked 329th out of 501 municipalities overall; 18th for economic diversity, 220th for socio-economic diversity, 305th for household diversity, 326th for religious diversity, and 358th for cultural diversity.
Laramie finished 420th; 275th for socio-economic diversity, 349th for cultural diversity, 406th for religious diversity, 426th for economic diversity, and 461st for household diversity.
Rock Springs was the highest ranked city in the Cowboy State, finishing 284th overall. Other Wyoming towns in the study include Green River (322nd), Jackson (375th), Casper (409th), Sheridan (415th), and Gillette (442nd).
Houston, Tex. was ranked the most diverse city in the country, followed closely by Jersey City, NJ, New York City, and Gaithersburg, Md. Bangor, Maine, finished last in the study. Orem, Utah, Rochester, N.H., Keene, N.H., and Barre, Vt. round out the five least diverse towns in America.
