If you love coffee then you're always looking for that perfect cup.

But the perfect cup of coffee does not have to mean overpriced drive-through or coffee shop coffee.

You don't have to buy an expensive coffee maker.

Probably the best way to make a good bold cup of coffee is the old Wyoming cowboy way.

NOTE: Heavy foam and other additives with a shot of espresso is not "coffee." That's a milkshake, or something, with a shot of coffee in it.

The way to make Wyoming Cowboy Coffee is simple.

Brewing Great Cowboy Coffee
Add water to your pot and bring it to a boil.
Once the water's boiling, remove the pot from your fire and let it sit for 30 seconds. ...
Add 2 tablespoons of finely ground coffee for every 8 ounces of water. ...
Stir the grounds into the water.
Let the brew sit for 2 minutes and stir again.

If you make it right it's not too stout or burnt.

A well-seasoned coffee pot works best. Don't wash it with soap and water. A good coffee pot has some coffee buildup.

To help keep yours clean, take a rag and wipe a little vegetable oil around the outside of the pot and it will be easier to clean after use.

Add water to the bottom of the spout. Then let the water warm before adding the grounds to the pot. (you can pick any brand you like).

The video below will show you how to make it at home, in your kitchen.

Grind the beans just before you make the coffee.

Coarser ground coffee needs to boil a little bit longer. You'll get more flavor out of a finer ground.

Wait until the pot comes to a full boil. Not bubbling, but boiling over.

As for how strong you like it depends on how much coffee you add and how long you like to boil it. Every person has different tastes. You'll have to experiment to find out what you like.
