Cheyenne, Laramie See Top 10 Warmest Decembers on Record
Last month was a very warm one across southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle.
According to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, Laramie saw its second-warmest December on record, Sidney its fourth, Scottsbluff its fifth, Rawlins its ninth, and Cheyenne its tenth.
The warmest day of the month came on Wednesday, Dec. 6, with Laramie, Rawlins, and Sidney all setting daily record highs.
"While we certainly had some unusually mild days last month, the lack of significant cold was perhaps more noteworthy," the NWS said. "Cheyenne didn't drop below 10F in December, which hasn't happened since 2002!"
Cheyenne, Laramie, Rawlins, and Scottsbluff also ended drier than normal, but Alliance, Chadron, and Sidney managed above-normal precipitation largely thanks to the post-Christmas snowstorm.

Precipitation was a mixed back across the area. Most locations ended drier than normal, but a few locations in Nebraska managed above normal precipitation largely thanks to the post-Christmas snow storm.
The month started off very windy, but wind speeds fell off towards the end of the month (besides the blizzard on the 26th of course).
