Southeast Wyoming residents can expect wet, rainy weather on Saturday and Sunday, with snow possible at higher elevations.

But warmer summer-type weather is expected for Memorial Day on Monday.

That's according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service.

The agency posted the following on its website:

''Those making plans for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend across southeast Wyoming and Nebraska Panhandle will need to plan on wet weather. At least for Saturday and Sunday, as a low pressure system tracks slowly across the area. Likely to see afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, with mountain snow above 9000 feet. For Memorial Day Monday, the low finally tracks far enough east for sunny skies to return. Keep our veterans in mind this weekend, along with their selfless sacrifices in keeping our country free. Thank you!''
