Rain/Snow Forecast For SE Wyoming, Mountains Could Get Heavy Snow
Southeast Wyoming could get some much-needed precipitation Monday and Tuesday, according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service.
The agency posted the following on its website: "A compact storm system is expected to move across the area Monday into Tuesday and bring a chance for some rain and snow. After another mild day Monday, look for scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms developing in the afternoon and evening hours. Storms may be accompanied by gusty winds and small hail or graupel. As colder air works in Monday night, expect a chance over to snow above 7500 ft, and a mix of rain and snow between 5000 and 7500 ft. Rain and snow showers will continue into Tuesday and come to an end Tuesday afternoon or early evening. Not everyone will get moisture from this system unfortunately, and it is unlikely to make much of a dent in the ongoing drought, but some localities will receive beneficial precipitation. Probabilities for much needed rainfall/snowfall are higher in southeast Wyoming compared to western Nebraska, where shower activity will be spottier."

Heavy Snow Possible At Higher Elevations
- Winter Weather Advisories have been issued for the mountains and the I-80 Summit today/tonight through Tuesday evening. 6 to 10 inches of snow is possible in the mountains, with 2 to 4 inches possible at the Summit. Snowfall at the Summit may lead to dangerous driving conditions, so use caution is traveling.
