The calendar may only say it is spring, but residents of southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle can look forward to a summer-like forecast through this weekend.

But things will take a colder, wetter turn early next week.

That's according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service. The agency posted the following on its website:

''A warm weekend expected across the area, but daily afternoon shower and thunderstorm chances will persist. Partly cloudy skies Friday and Saturday before increasing cloud coverage returns for Sunday. Enjoy the weekend!''
