The Laramie Fire Department will start their annual "Fill the Boot Campaign" by sending their firefighters to the intersections of 4th and Grand and 22nd and Grand with empty boots to garner donations for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). The event will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

All money raised during the drive will go to the MDA and will help fund research to cure Muscular Dystrophy, MDA care centers for Muscular Dystrophy patients, and the MDA's annual summer camp for children with Muscular Dystrophy.

According to firefighters.mda.org, The first "Fill the Boot" event was held in Boston in 1953 and raised around $5,000.
