Laramie Man Charged with Felony Possession
The Laramie Police Department reports that a 42-year-old Laramie resident has been charged with felony possession of a controlled substance.
On the evening of January 10, Laramie Police Officers responded to the 400 block of East Kearney Street for the report of an unknown subject pounding on the back door of a residence.
As a result of the Officers’ investigation, Vassar J. Thomas was arrested and charged with Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and Disorderly Conduct. Bond has not yet been set and as of Monday evening, Mr. Thomas remains incarcerated at the Albany County Detention Center.
Possession of a Controlled substance is a felony if any person is convicted for a third or subsequent offense under this paragraph, including convictions for violations of similar laws in other jurisdictions. It is punishable by imprisonment for a term of not more than five years, a fine of not more than five thousand dollars, or both.
At this time, these charges are merely accusations and the Defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
