Laramie Police Investigating Counterfeit Currency
The Laramie Police Department is warning the community about recent reports of counterfeit bills being used in Laramie businesses.
The Laramie Police have responded to two separate reports of counterfeiting and recovered very distinctive counterfeit currency, according to a LPD news release.
The counterfeit $50 and $100 bills that officers recovered have colorful emblems and Chinese symbols and letters on them. They also are lacking a watermark that is found on real U.S currency.
The LPD says they have not identified any suspects and the investigation is ongoing. The police are encouraging residents to call the non-emergency Police Dispatch number, (307) 721-2526 to file a report if someone tries to give them any of these counterfeit bills.
