No Charges to be Filed Against Deputies in Fatal Shooting
No criminal charges will be filed against any of the four Albany County Sheriff’s deputies involved in the fatal Dec. 6 shooting of a Colorado man at Snowy Range Ski Area.
A letter to the Albany County Commissioners from the Attorney General’s Office this week says the decision comes after Deputy Attorney General David Delicath reviewed the report prepared by Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation Special Agent Colin Ryder.
Delicath determined there is no basis to file criminal charges against any of the four deputies who were present at the scene of the shooting..
John Alan Britton, 48, of Colorado was shot and killed Dec. 6 at Snowy Range Ski Area. The four Albany County Sheriff’s deputies at the scene–Adam Dean, Matt Donnell, Aaron Gallegos and Edward Rosier–were all placed on administrative leave following the incident in accordance with Sheriff's Office policy.
Donnell and Rosier are scheduled to return to duty soon, while Dean and Gallegos are already back at work according to the Sheriff’s Office.
