Dr. Travis Brown was named the new head coach of the Laramie Plainsmen boy's basketball program last Tuesday.

Brown became the third head coach in the last three years. He replaced Ryan Puckett, who was at the helm last season. Puckett had taken over for Chuck Kern, who guided Laramie for three years, but stepped down after the 2014 season concluded.

The new head coach was a guest during 'Laramie Live on KOWB' with the 'voice' of the Plainsmen, David Settle, just a couple of days after getting the job. It's an introduction of the gentleman who's taking the reigns.

Brown admitted it had been a tiring few days. He went into his background and position at the University of Wyoming. Brown addressed concerns about his lack of experience, described his style and philosophy and what he knows about the current state of the program. He did say it will take a 'team effort to get this where we want to get it.'

The new head coach has been busy putting together a staff and planning their summer off-season.

Laramie opens their 2016-17 season under Brown on December 8th in Riverton, WY.
