Tornadoes Hit Over Wyoming - Memorial Day Weekend 2018

A series of tornadoes and funnel clouds were reported in Laramie and Sweetwater Counties over the past holiday weekend.

On Sunday, at least three twisters were reported in Laramie County.

One tornado damaged eight homes in a rural western part of the county.

Two other tornadoes are also reported to have touched down in the county on Sunday afternoon, including one that crossed Interstate 25 between mile markers 25 and 35 north of Cheyenne. While outdoor emergency warning sirens in the city were activated shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday, Cheyenne itself was not hit.

On Monday afternoon around 3:30 p.m., a funnel cloud was sighted about 40 miles west of Rock Springs near Little America in Sweetwater County. No serious injuries or deaths have been reported so far from any of the tornadoes.
