A burst pipe caused the City of Laramie to shut off water to an undetermined number of residents in West Laramie Wednesday morning.

The problem is located near the intersection of Pierce and Van Buren, according to city staff. Crews are working on repairs, and Utilities Supervisor Cal Van Zee is hopeful water will be running again by 5 p.m.

"Everything north on Pierce is out," Van Zee said, adding that while staff are looking at possibly back-feeding to the affected area, it's unlikely to bring a temporary fix.

Van Buren is currently closed from Pierce to Buchanan. Pierce is closed to Fillmore.
