Woman Claims She Has Bomb While Trying to Rob Cheyenne C-Store
A 23-year-old Oklahoma woman is facing charges after allegedly trying to rob a Cheyenne convenience store by claiming she had a bomb.
Court records allege Talia Poafpybitty tried to steal money from the Maverik at 1706 S. Greeley Highway on Aug. 4 by placing a bag on the counter and saying it contained a bomb.
Clerks told responding deputies that Poafpybitty said she would blow the store up if they didn't give her the money.
When questioned about the threat, Poafpybitty reportedly told deputies that she thought it would be exciting.
Poafbybitty was arrested and charged with attempted robbery-threat and interference with a peace officer-resist. If convicted on both counts, she could face up to 11 years in prison.
Poafpybitty is currently being held in the Laramie County jail on a $15,000 cash bond. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 15 at 1:30 p.m.
