Wyoming federal judges recently sentenced four men for drug, firearms and illegal alien crimes, according to a news release from the Wyoming U.S. Attorney's Office.

Chief U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Freudenthal sentenced Leonel Gomez-Hernandez, also known as Fernando Hernandez, 26, of Mexico for illegal re-entry of a previously deported alien into the United States. Gomez-Hernandez was arrested in Casper. He received time served, plus 10 days, was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment, and is subject to deportation upon release from custody.

This case was investigated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

 

U.S. District Court Judge Scott Skavdahl sentenced two defendants -- Robert Tyler Wyatt and Kevin Patrick Michael -- in a methamphetamine conspiracy

Skavdahl sentenced Wyatt, 29, of Casper for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and for being a felon in possession of firearms.  He received six years, eight months of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release, and was ordered to pay a $200 special assessment and $500 in restitution.

He also sentenced Michael, 21, of Westminster, Colo., for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. Michael was arrested in Cheyenne. He received two years, nine months of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release, and was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment and $250 in restitution.

Theses cases were investigated by the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Skavdahl also sentenced Richard James Clifton, 29, of Evanston for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Clifton was arrested in Cheyenne. He received two years, four months of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release, and was ordered to pay a $100.

This case was investigated by the BATFE.
