Citing his remarkarble contribution to the nation's cultural identity, Merle Haggard was recentely honored by the Kennedy Center in Washington.  But the honor was just part of it.  Merle was the recipient of a one-of-a-kind musical treat when country artists Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill, Miranda Lambert and Brad Paisley all teamed up to give their renditions of some of Merle's greatest hits.

The Kennedy Center honors are some of the most prestigious awards in the nation and are bestowed upon people who have contributed to the development and enrichment of American culture.  Also honored with Merle were Paul McCartney and Oprah Winfrey.  The ceremonies will be broadcast after Christmas on December 28th on CBS.
