Cheyenne Police Focus on Being More Visible
As part of an effort to reduce red light running, Cheyenne Police are increasing their visibility at high-crash intersections in the city.
Chief Brian Kozak says patrol officers, especially those on motorcycles, are teaming up to "swarm" intersections along Dell Range and Yellowstone so that they are highly visible to motorists.
"It's to get people to think about, if they're approaching an intersection, are the cops going to be there or not? Are they going to be doing red light enforcement," said Kozak.
Whenever the traffic unit is running a high visibility enforcement (HIVE) operation the department will announce it on their Facebook page.
"It's one of our agency goals this year to focus on those intersections because we want people to stop at those red lights," said Kozak. "We're taking it seriously."
