Jubilee Days Carnival Slightly Affected By Partial Building Collapse
One of the most popular events of Laramie Jubilee Days has been slightly affected by a recent partial building collapse in Laramie's downtown.
The recent partial collapse of a building on 404 South Second Street has prompted a slight shift in location of the carnival, although it will still be located in the same general area—nestled in in downtown Laramie among other Jubilee Days celebrations.
“About a half block of the carnival—where it normally is—will be blocked off. It will just be a little bit further to the south on First Street, but it will basically be in the same spot,” says Jubilee Days Vice Chair Zoe Curtright. “So they’ll just move down a little bit, but everybody will be able to find it right where the usually find it, and everything should be pretty much the same.”
Curtright encourages people to purchase presale armbands to save money when compared to buying them at the carnival location.
Presale armbands are priced at $18. Armbands are $28 on Wednesday and Thursday and $30 for Friday and Saturday. Armband outlets for presale include Martindale’s Western Store, First Interstate Bank, and Fresh Flower Fantasy
This year, the carnival starts on Wednesday, July 8 and runs through Saturday, July 11.
