Kid Rock Plans Fall Tour for Local Charities
With more than 23 million albums sold in the US, four Grammy nominations and three Top 40 hits, Kid Rock has been more fortunate than most. But even after more than a decade as one of the most successful recording artists in the world, he hasn’t forgotten the importance of reaching out to those in need.
In fact, that’s just what he’s doing with his fall tour, which has him visiting a series of small theaters across the country and donating the proceeds to local charities and individuals.
According to Kid Rock, he was inspired by ‘Care,’ the latest single from his 2010 album ‘Born Free.’ “The song says ‘the least that I can do is care’ — and I want to put my money where my mouth is,” he explained in a press release. “Everyone knows that Detroit is hurting. But I want to show that even though we don’t have a lot on our own plate, it doesn’t mean the people of my hometown don’t have compassion to share with others all over the country. At the end of the day we’re all Detroit, we’re one country, one family.”
The tour runs from November 10 through December 9, at which point Rock will presumably finish working on his upcoming album ‘Chillin’ the Most.’
