Winter is coming, and unfortunately, many members of the Laramie community are finding themselves without coats to keeping them warm as the nights get longer and the temperatures drop.

To help combat this, two coat drives have been organized in the Laramie area to help ensure that all of Laramie's residents stay warm this winter season. The first is currently being put on by Townsquare Media in conjunction with Toyota of Laramie, Premier Bone and Joint Centers, TriHydro, and Down to Earth Dry Cleaners. Collection bins have been placed at each of the participating locations.

This coat drive started back on October 24, but will continue through this week, with final pickups taking place this Friday and Saturday (December 7 and 8) at Toyota of Laramie. Pickups will take place Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Coats collected in this drive will be distributed to adults and children in the Laramie area.

The other coat drive taking place this season has been organized by local Cub Scout Pack 136 and will last through November 12. The scouts have placed bins at UniWyo's Grand Avenue branch, Murdoch's, Basecamp, the Laramie Recreation Center, Laramie GM, Walmart, and Wyoming Health Fair. Coats donated to the Cub Scout drive will be collected and taken to the VA hospital located in Sheridan.
