For the second straight game, the Laramie Plainsmen are on the road, as they head to Cheyenne to play No. 4 East on Friday.

It’s a 6 p.m. kick-off at Okie Blanchard Stadium. Coverage on KOWB and the KOWB app begins at 5 p.m.

Laramie (1-2) is coming off a blowout loss at No. 5 Natrona in Casper last week, 48-21. For the second time in three games, the Plainsmen started slow and failed to slow down their opponent early in the game.

Cheyenne East (2-1) is coming off a 42-7 road win at Campbell County last Friday.

Laramie head coach Clint Reed spoke to KOWB’s David Settle about the disappointment of last week, changing things up with the team and playing time, plus how difficult of an opponent Cheyenne East will be and see if they can get some energy early in the game in the video at the top of this story.

The Plainsmen will face the No. 1 passing team in the state, led by senior QB Graedyn Buell. The Thunderbirds average 317 yards per game through the air. LHS had trouble slowing NC down through the air a week ago. Cheyenne East is at 458 yards and 34.7 points per game.

Laramie looks to rely on its strength, the ground game, which is averaging 188 yards per game. Senior Isaac Sell leads the way at 117.7 yards per game and has four rushing touchdowns. The Plainsmen are at 273 yards and 22 points per game. East does allow 220 yards on the ground, 373 in total offense, and 22.7 points per game.

It will be the 65th meeting between the two schools on a football field. The fourth-ranked T-Birds have won the last four games in the series.

The game starts at 6 p.m. You can listen to it on KOWB (AM 1290), anywhere on the KOWB app, online, or on a smart speaker. David Settle and Aaron Lozano will call the action. The broadcast begins at 5 p.m.
