Wyoming Cowgirl junior Marquelle Dent was among five individuals chosen for the WBCA All-Region Seven Team announced Wednesday.

Dent earns the accolade for the first time in her career. The guard led the Cowgirls in scoring, assists, steals and minutes played last season. She averaged 17.7 points, 6 assists and 2.2 steals per game. Dent played nearly 35 minutes a game.

She was recently named First-Team All-Mountain West and to the league's All-Defensive Team for the first time in her career. Dent finished in double-figures in 29 games including every conference game. She ranked in the top five in six different statistical categories.

The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association selection committee will choose the 10-member WBCA Division I Coaches’ All-America Team from the 52 All-Region candidates. That team will be announced Saturday April 4.

This marks the third year in a row that a Cowgirl has been selected for the All-Region team. Last year Kayla Woodward received the honor, while the year before former Cowgirl Chaundra Sewell was selected.
