Ruth Williams started baking cupcakes with a mission in mind. She wanted to give a portion of her proceeds to her non-profit, Hearth Mothers. The organization focused on helping mentor young girls who are rescued from sex trafficking, and a tiny little booth at the Laramie Farmers' Market was helping to fund the mission.

Now, after the popularity of her cupcakes exploded, Sugar Mouse Cupcake House and Tea Shoppe was born on Grand Avenue. "I've been told it's kind of like the female version of Willy Wonka," Ruth said with a laugh. The bakery is decorated in pastel pinks, with little chocolate and sugar mice hidden throughout the tea shoppe. You can get British stew, Wassail, tea, coffee, and of course, cupcakes.
