Windsock's aren't just cool decorations.

If you think Saturday was a windy day in southeast Wyoming even by the windblown standards of the Cowboy State, you are right.

Lusk, Torrington, Douglas, and several other communities could be hit by the storms.

Just for comparison, the National Weather Service defines winds of 74 miles per hour as "hurricane force."

Wind gusts of 80 miles per hour are possible in some areas, and winds of 60-70 will be a common occurrence.

The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service says severe thunderstorms are possible in southeast Wyoming today [Sept. 12] and tomorrow.

Several wind gusts of 92 miles per hour or higher were recorded in SE Wyoming.
