Wyoming Army Guard Will Deploy Soldiers Next Month
Sunday, September 8th soldiers from A Battery, 2nd Battalion, 300th Field Artillery will deploy for the Middle East, according to a press release.
You can expect to see Gov. Mark Gordon in attendance alongside Maj. Gen. Greg Porter and the Wyoming Army National Guard command team. Once the soldiers arrive they will be assigned to the U.S. Central Command. They will make a stop in Cheyenne then to Fort Bliss for more mobilization training.
There will be soldiers from several states deploying like Colorado and Massachusetts but a majority are from Wyoming. Soldiers are out of Buffalo, Casper, Cheyenne, Cody, Etna, Evansville, Fort Bridger, Gillette, Lander, Laramie, New Castle, Riverton, Rock Springs, Sheridan, Thermopolis, Torrington, and Worland.
The event is open to the public and will take place at the Clarion Inn at Platte River, 123 West E Street, in Casper.
