Wyoming Secretary of State’s Office Launches New Business Filing Tools
The Wyoming Secretary of State's Office announced Monday the launch of newly available electronic business filing services, which Secretary of State Ed Murray describes as a "game-changer" for a previously archaic process.
The new tools available online from the Secretary of State's Business Division allow for the filing of documents to form an limited liability company and profit or nonprofit corporations.
In addition, any registered business entity in good standing can generate an electronic certificate of no standing at no cost.
Secretary of State Ed Murray says his office's goal is to be business-friendly and operate at the speed of business, not the speed of government.
"We have found a way to cut the time to process a business filing from five days to about thirty minutes once our business clients choose to use our new online services," Murray says. "We are doubling down on the commitment I made when I first took office to modernize and make our Business Division state-of-the-art."
All public business documents are now searchable online at the Secretary of State's website.
"This is a game changer for transparency, ease, accessibility, and the retrieval of records that were previously only available through an archaic process," Murray says.
"These are the types of services that our customers have wanted for years," says Lisa Gonzalez, who has worked in the Business Division for 27 years.
