When it comes to obscure holidays, none might be more worth while than Administrative Professionals Day. Some people call this day Secretary’s Day, but I think Administrative Professionals Day sounds better. Whatever you call it, this somewhat obscure holiday is today, April 25, and if you are planning on celebrating or observing it, flowers might be in order.

As spring weather finally settles into the Laramie area, many dogs are enjoying the warmer temperatures alongside their owners. This spring seems to offer the first big test of the overhaul of the Animal Ordinance Code from last fall because in those changes was the addition of a city wide leash law.

It’s no secret that many times throughout the football season War Memorial stadium can be a bit empty during games. Today we happened to notice that CSU actually announced a 12% reduction in the cost per ticket to see the Rams play football this coming season to “bring more of the pageantry of major college football to Colorado State.”

With only one week of class left before finals, the tension level around campus is rising. You may have noticed more than one glazed look on someone’s face at Wal-mart. Odds are it was a college student. But for a select percentage of University of Wyoming and WyoTech Students, this finals week holds significance: it is their last finals week...

The prospect of summer seems to be a recurring theme on our Surveys of the Day. Many of us are looking forward to the break from work or school and the opportunity to take some time away.  While we encourage spending as much time in and around the Laramie area as possible, we do understand if you want to take a vacation away for a few days...

With over 118,000 people attending concerts at Cheyenne Frontier Days in 2011, it’s no secret that it’s a popular place to be and the 2012 lineup looks pretty sweet.

Now that the intersection at 30th Street and Grand Avenue has been closed for a few weeks, chances are that by now everyone is used to the detour routes and delays. I personally have noticed that the detour routes don’t seem to be too congested unless you try to got hrough them weekdays at peek drive times...

With school beginning to wind down (or ramp up depending on how you look at it), discussions of summer plans have begun to dominate the dinner table and the office water cooler.  While most of us will have to spend a good portion of our summer working, hopefully we will all manage to find some time for ourselves...

Laramie is justifiably proud of their choices of great places to eat.  In the past few years, more and more choices have come into existence.  But, with the tough economic times, many families and individuals have had to take a close look at their disposable incomes.

It’s that time of year again- hot dogs, peanuts, cold beer, hope and despair… it’s baseball season. Unfortunately the reality of living in a state as small as we do is that it can't support major prefessional sports teams. Many of us in the Laramie area are fans of the Colorado Rockies and in cheering for them, we have been taken on some great rides through the past few years...

Like most college towns, Laramie has its fair share of folks who use bicycles as their main mode of transportation. A Laramie resident made a suggestion to the city council to put in some designated bike lanes and a pilot program is currently being developed by Laramie’s Community Development and Parks and Recreation departments.
