When the founders of the education system in America were putting together the standard school year, they left the Summer open to make sure that children living in rural America and living on farms and ranches would be available to help their families.  Well, times have changed, but the schedule hasn’t.

Although the Albany County School District did not get funding from in the state budget to construct a new high school yet, they did get money from the state to purchase land and design the building. Just a couple of weeks ago, the Laramie City Council unanimously passed a memorandum of understanding for ACSD to purchase land on Turner Tract.

It’s time for construction season in Laramie! As you might remember a few weeks back we talked about some of the major road construction projects taking place in town with the weather warming up. One of the most major closures this construction season starts today with the closure of the intersection at 30th Street & Grand Avenue.

Since its launch this past year, the City of Laramie’s curbside recycling program has seemed to be a big topic of discussion. We have had folks asking the city about different aspects of the program from how much it costs per month to their plans for future expansion.

Looking at the weather this past week you would never guess that we are still officially in winter at 7,200 feet here in Laramie. However this next Tuesday is the official begining of Spring that brings about a whole new side of Laramie.
