A Jubilee Days Rodeo Recap
Champions were crowned in seven different events after Laramie Jubilee Days PRCA rodeo action concluded Sunday at the Albany County Fairgrounds.
Idaho cowboy Kenny Haworth had an 83 point ride on Summit Pro Rodeo's Rez Dog during Friday night's performance. It stood the whole weekend, and Haworth won the bareback riding title and pockets $1,607 for his efforts.
In steer wrestling, a pair of cowboys from Wyoming tied for the top spot. Lander's Riley Krassin set the pace of 4.7 seconds in Friday's slack. Pine Bluff's Cole McNamee matched it during Saturday night's performance. The cowboys split first place prize money, each earning $1,544.
Montana cowboys Dustin Bird and Chase Tryan captured the team roping title with the fastest run at 5.3 seconds Sunday afternoon. They both earn $1,567.
The saddle bronc riding title was also determined Sunday afternoon, as Hillsdale, WY cowboy Brody Cress shot to the number one position with an 85-point ride on Sacajawea. He won $1,719.
Saturday night's performance brought about the fastest run in tie-down roping. Texas cowboy Blane Cox put together a run of 8.4 seconds to win the title and receive a payday of $1,711.
In barrel racing, Texas cowgirl Lisa Thornton made a blazing run of 17.10 seconds Sunday afternoon to capture the crown. She won $1,852.
Finally in bull riding, New Mexico cowboy Stetson Lewis rode "Biscuit" to an 86-point effort and won the event. He takes home $1,774.
This year's Laramie Jubilee Days rodeo payout was $50,902. Summit Pro Rodeo of Laramie was the main stock contractor.
