Construction on Cheyenne’s Holliday Park to Begin Monday
Cheyenne residents will notice some changes at Holliday Park on Monday, as Phase II of the Lake Minnehaha Remediation Project gets underway.
Parks and Recreation Director Rick Parish says the city plans to create a new walking path around the lake, upgrade the parking lot just south of the lake and construct a new gazebo.
Stormwater improvements along Duff Avenue from E. 20th Street to Holliday Park will also be made.
Parish says while parts of the existing walking path will be closed at times, the park will remain accessible during the construction.
The $2.35 million project, which is being funded through state and local grants, is scheduled to be completed by next summer.
Phase I of the project was completed in early 2014 and included the draining and deepening of the lake, as well as the installation of a new outlet structure.
