I-80 Plane Crash [VIDEO]
A small aircraft went down on Interstate 80 a few miles east of Laramie just before 8 a.m. Friday morning.
67-year-old Steven Stam of Holland, Michigan, was taken to Ivinson Memorial Hospital this morning after his airplane crashed onto I-80 at mile marker 321 inside Telephone Canyon. Stam was the only person aboard the airplane, and his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening. The Wyoming Highway Patrol worked to secure the scene for investigators.
The aircraft, which sustained substantial damage, has been identified as an Alon A-2 Aircoupe. The cause of the crash remains unknown. The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
