The District 2 Little League Baseball Tournament is in Laramie this week at the Laramie Youth Baseball Complex.

The top two teams in the Majors and Minors Tournaments will advance to the Wyoming State Little League Baseball Tournament in Torrington July 24-27, 2019.

Both district tournaments are seven-team, double-elimination brackets that start today and run through Saturday.

There are three games on Monday and Tuesday, two on Wednesday, three on Thursday, two on Friday, and at least one, possibly two on Saturday. There is also opening ceremonies and a challenger game at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 16.

In the Majors Tournament (10-12-year-olds), the host Laramie is joined by Casper, Douglas, Gillette, Platte County, Rawlins, and Torrington.

In the Minors Tournament (8-10-year-olds), the bracket includes the host Laramie, plus Douglas, Gillette American, Gillette National, Platte County, Rawlins, and Torrington.

Monday’s games start at 1 p.m. in the Majors with Platte County taking on Rawlins. The next game is at 4 p.m. between Gillette and Douglas. Laramie plays Torrington at 7 p.m.

The times are the same in the Minors, but at 1 p.m. the match-up is Torrington versus Douglas. The 4 p.m. game pits Platte County against Gillette American. The last game at 7 p.m. has Laramie facing Rawlins.

The Laramie Youth Baseball Complex is off East Armory Road in the Gem City.
