Dax Parvin and Brock Lehning combined on a no-hitter that carried the Laramie Minors All-Stars to a District Championship Saturday morning.

Laramie defeated Torrington 11-1 in the title game at the Laramie Youth Baseball Complex.

Manager Matt Lehning said one of the hardest things is not knowing what our opponents have.

“Our biggest thing is let’s come, let’s play our style of baseball, what we’ve been working on in practice, and the boys came and executed it well.”

It was the second straight victory by Laramie over Torrington and a second straight no-hitter thrown by the All-Stars. Maddox Dorrell tossed a no-hitter on Thursday against Torrington.

Lehning knew it would be tough to see Torrington again.

“They’re a good baseball team, and these boys are 9 and 10-years-old. It’s kind of hard to say what you’re going to get exactly, all the time, but definitely proud of the boys.”

Parvin threw 3.2 innings and allowed one unearned run on no hits. He walked three and finished with 10 strikeouts. Parvin struck out the side in the second and recorded a 1-2-3 inning in the third. Lehning came in and got the final out on a ground ball.

Laramie scored eight runs in the first three innings. They scored on two Torrington errors in the first inning. Dorrell had an RBI-single and scored on a passed ball, which was followed by Jackson Bailey’s two-run triple for a 6-0 lead.

A sacrifice bunt and an error by Torrington led to an 8-0 lead after three innings. A wild pitch got Torrington on the board in the fourth inning. Laramie then wrapped up its title with a sacrifice fly, a double by Jackson Rehor, and a bunt single by Porter Stender.

Laramie had seven total hits, drew five walks, and took advantage of six errors by Torrington.

It was part of a week of domination by the Laramie All-Stars. They won all four games by at least 10 runs and out-scored their opposition by a combined score of 53-2.

Lehning said their biggest key to success was on the mound.

“I think we got some dominating pitching performances. Dax Parvin pitched two games there. Maddox came in, and he pitched a great game. So, I would probably have to say that as far as pitching goes, it was great.”

Lehning also added that his team hit the ball.

The Minors team will be the top seed from District 2 at the Wyoming Little League State Championship tournament in Torrington. That runs from July 24-27. Laramie will play Rock Springs in their first game on Wednesday, July 24 at 3 p.m.
