Local Artists to be Featured in 2016 Laramie Pop-Up Artwalk

Artists, musicians and performers will descend upon downtown Laramie for two days in September as part of the 2016 Laramie Pop-Up Artwalk.

It's a weekend of music, theater, demonstrations and opportunities for the public to make their own art, designed to turn all of downtown Laramie into a dynamic, art-filled community space. The event aims to be fully inclusive of different artistic disciplines and styles.

The Artwalk will run from 5-9 p.m. on Sept. 16 and from 11 a.m. -5 p.m. on Sept. 17. Works by local artists will be featured in established galleries as well as "pop-up" shops and on the streets of downtown. The Wyoming Art Party is organizing the event in partnership with the Laramie Main Street Alliance.

The Wyoming Art Party was established in 2014 and is run by local Laramie artists June Glasson, Meg Thompson and Adrienne Vetter. Their mission is to represent art in Wyoming as it truly is, rather than as it is thought to be, by pulling together diverse art projects and shows that connect people scattered throughout Wyoming.

Laramie's Pop-Up Artwalk is funded in part by a grant from the Wyoming Arts Council.The Laramie Main Street Alliance provides additional support.

Kelli Trujillo is coordinating the musicians, while Anne Mason of Relative Theatrics is organizing the dancers and performers.
