Last night, millions of fans watched the Major League Baseball All-Star game. In its 87 year history, only three Wyoming natives have played in the midsummer classic.

Wyoming's first All-Star was pitcher Dick Ellsworth. The pride of Lusk was the youngest player in the National League when he joined the Chicago Cubs in 1958. He went on to play for five teams during his 13 year career. Ellsworth's best season was with the Cubs in 1963, when he won 23 games. The following year, he was selected to his only All-Star game.

Casper's Tom Browning spent 11 seasons in the big leagues from 1984 to 1995; the first ten with the Cincinnati Reds. On Septeber 16,1988, he became only the 12th pitcher in Major League Baseball history to throw a perfect game. After winning a World Series with the Reds in 1990, Browning was named to his only All-Star team in 1991.

John Buck was a journeyman catcher who played for seven teams during 10 year career in the majors. Buck's best season was with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2010. The Kemmerer, Wyoming, native went 1 for 2 with a double in his only All-Star appearance.
