PODCAST: What’s your level of excitement for Cowboy football?
LARAMIE -- Is it just us or are things a little off right now?
Last year at this time, social media was buzzing. The Cowboys were picked to finish second in the Mountain Division in the preseason polls and fielded one of the most experienced teams in the country.
They received a handful of first-place votes, too.
We all saw how that went.
Wyoming is not on the radar this season -- to say the least. Now owners of the third-youngest rosters in all of the FBS (only Nevada and Hawaii are less experienced) expectations for Craig Bohl's bunch are not exactly soaring.
Neither are your tweets and comments.
Jared Newland and I broke down a few reasons you should be very excited about these youngsters and touched on a couple of scary propositions, heading into the 2020 campaign. We broke down some position battles, discussed some surprises in camp and even named a starting quarterback for the Aug. 27 opener at Illinois (Don't tell Bohl).
Here's a hint. He's the only one on the depth chart with any experience at this level. You know, the kind of guy you probably want under center when you open the season in Big Ten country.
