Three Wyoming Cowgirls scored in double figures, as UW continued its roll with a dominant 87-45 victory over San Diego State Wednesday night in Laramie.

It was the largest margin of victory in the series against the Aztecs.

Karla Erjavec led the way with 17 points. Sladjana Rakovic tied her career-high 13 points off the bench, while Taylor Rusk added 12 points and five assists.

Wyoming (9-3, 2-1) shot 54 percent from the floor. They scored 23 points off 19 San Diego State turnovers and got 45 points off the bench.

The first quarter had four different tie scores. A basket by Rusk gave UW the lead for good at 10-8. A lay-up by Clara Tapia and a three by Quinn Weidemann made it 15-8 Cowgirls. Back-to-back field goals by the Aztecs’ Jayden Perez cut it to 15-12.

Wyoming then scored 12 straight points at the end of the first and start of the second quarter. The Cowgirls run extended to 24-5. A Rakovic lay-up with 3:34 left in the first half made it 39-17. UW led 46-24 at halftime.

After San Diego State scored the first four points of the second half, Erjavec scored ten straight in less than two minutes. It made the score 56-28, and Wyoming rolled from there. The Aztecs never got closer than 24 points the rest of the game. The final margin of 42 points was UW’s biggest lead of the game.
