One of Laramie's favorite holiday traditions, the annual Christmas parade and tree lighting, will be Friday, December 1 starting at 6 p.m.

The tree lighting will kick off the evening and will take place in the 1st Street Plaza next to Coal Creek Coffee. The parade will follow its usual route by going south on 2nd Street before making a right at University Street, a left at 1st Street, and a left on Garfield Street before finishing the route on 2nd Street.

This year's parade theme is "a Whoville Christmas." The parade has 30 entries this year.

Parade Chair Denise Deem says of the event that "the Downtown Laramie Business Association is pleased to continue this tradition as a thank you for shopping and dining in Downtown Laramie all year."
