The summer collegiate baseball season has been up and down thus far for the Laramie Colts in the 2018 Rocky Mountain Baseball League campaign.

After a sweep of the Rough Riders at the start of the season, the Colts split against the Game Day Saints June 9, and have now dropped three straight.

The Colts play on the road for the first time this season Friday and Sunday. They travel to Boulder to face the Collegians Friday. Boulder won twice in Laramie June 10. The twin bill starts at 5 p.m. Friday. Then Sunday it’s off to Sterling, CO to play the Sterling Xpress for the first time this season. Those two games begin at 1 p.m.

The league’s All-Star game is just a few days away on Wednesday, June 27 in Sterling.

Colts’ first-year manager Ryan Hargrove stopped by the “Laramie Live on KOWB” radio morning show Friday and discussed how things have gone to this point of the season. He had some nice to say about Laramie and talked about his team’s three All-Stars.

Despite the 3-4 start, the Colts are within two-and-a-half games of second place. They are one of seven teams in the RMBL standings that are within three games of each other.

The next set of home games for the Colts are June 30 against the RMBL league-leading Black Bears and July 1 versus the Xpress.
