Meet Wyoming Freshman QB Sean Chambers [VIDEO]
There’s a new quarterback in the mix with the Wyoming Cowboys, who are preparing for their ninth game of the season Friday at Colorado State.
In last Saturday’s loss to Utah State, true freshman Sean Chambers entered the game in the first half. On his second play, he fumbled, but luckily the Aggies missed a field goal. After Wyoming threw an interception on the first play of the second half, Chambers number was called again. He led Wyoming to three scores on its next five drives, but the comeback fell short.
Chambers ran for 100 yards and went 3-5 passing for 62 yards in his debut as a Cowboy. Monday, KOWB’s David Settle caught up with the freshman to ask him about his first college game, some of his background, why he decided to become a Cowboy, preparing for this week’s Border War, and a few other details.
Wyoming head coach Craig Bohl announced Monday at his weekly press conference that it will be a “game-time decision” on who will start at quarterback for the Pokes. Redshirt freshman Tyler Vander Waal has started the first eight this season. If Chambers is chosen, Friday would be the first start of his career.
The Cowboys play at rival Colorado State Friday at 8 p.m. Radio coverage will be on KCGY (FM 95.1) Friday night at 7 p.m.
