NFL Draft Analyst Has Josh Allen No. 1 to the Browns
The hype train for former Wyoming QB Josh Allen continued Thursday with ESPN NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr.
Kiper released his Mock Draft 1.0 and had plenty of praise for Allen. He talked about his finish at the bowl game, the shoulder injury, his competitiveness and more.
Allen led Wyoming to an 8-5 overall record and a victory in the 2017 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. He finished his career with 5,833 yards of total offense and was responsible for 57 touchdowns in the brown and gold.
Allen will get a chance to showcase his skills at this year’s Reese’s Senior Bowl in Mobile, AL Jan. 27. That game will begin at 12:30 p.m., Mountain Time, and is being televised on the NFL Network.
The players that Kiper referred to in his conversation about Allen losing players from the previous season, included 2016 NFL Draftees Brian Hill and Chase Roullier. Hill was a fifth round pick of the Atlanta Falcons and concluded his rookie season with the Cincinnati Bengals. Roullier was a sixth round pick of the Washington Redskins. He played in 13 games and started seven. Receiver Tanner Gentry and tight end Jacob Hollister were free agent signees of the Chicago Bears and New England Patriots, respectively. Both saw playing time during the 2017 NFL season. Hollister and the Patriots will play in the AFC Championship Sunday at home versus Jacksonville.
