Plainsmen Football Team Hosts Community Event [VIDEOS]
The Laramie High School football team is hosting its annual scrimmage and community barbecue Friday at Deti Stadium.
This event is the brainchild of second-year Laramie Plainsmen head coach Clint Reed. His desire is to keep the high school, middle school and Laramie Youth Football programs tied together and build a bond throughout the Gem City.
Festivities start about 4:30 p.m. with all football players’ grades 4-12 gathering to take a picture together. Dinner will start being served at 5:15 p.m. The youth program players will then join the middle school and high school for warm-up. After that, the middle school and high school will go through a short scrimmage beginning about 6 p.m.
Coach Reed talked with KOWB’s David Settle about the scrimmage and community BBQ.
Reed also discussed the importance of having his team interact with the youth, which is what they did on the LHS practice field Monday night (Aug. 13).
Here's a brief look at what was taking place across the practice field Monday night for the Laramie Youth Football program.
There will be apparel and the team’s Plainsmen business fundraising cards for sale at the stadium.
This event is free and open to the public.
