Reviewing Cheyenne’s “Heartiest” Burger
I just had the opportunity to devour the largest burger I've ever seen in Cheyenne, and it was totally worth it.
You have likely seen the Rolln' 50's Walk-Up Diner food truck parked on Lincolnway, but have you stopped to check it out?
The truck is parked at 2825 E. Lincolnway (In front of Linconway Pawn & Linconway Liqours.)
While burgers are the specialty, it does feature a fairly diverse menu of options including nachos, pulled prk nachos, smothered burritos, chicken sandwiches, pretzels, and deep fried tacos.
And while I will absolutely be back to try the green chili burger, and perhaps a deep fried taco, I wanted my first experience to be the burger I'd heard so much about. The Doube D Cheeseburger.
The Double D is a massive 2 1/2 lb burger topped with mayo, ketchup, mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle.
This behemoth of a burger will set up back $8.79... and that's just for the burger. Fries are an extra $2.25 or $3.99 for onion rings.
While the price is a tad steep, it's completely worth it if you've got a big appetite. Despite the toppings, the beef is overwhelmingly what comes through in every bite. A well seasoned, hearty patty that's complimented by a sesame seed bun and fresh toppings.
Additionally, during the time of my visit, the staff of just two people were courteous and polite. After quick glance in the truck, it appeared to be well organized and cleanly.
Food trucks are fantastic because they can focus on making a small menu perfect. The Roll'n Diner has more options than a typical food truck, and slightly higher prices, but the portions make up for the cost and the food seems to be done perfectly.
If there's a few folks in front of you in line, expect a bit of a wait, but at the time of my visit the staff was working with 100% energy. There are so many fantastic food trucks emerging in southeast Wyoming and this one is now near the top of my list.
