The Cheyenne-Laramie County Health Department on Tuesday said the county last week recorded over 800 new COVID-19 cases.

The bill would allow parents to get waivers from school face mask and vaccination mandates for their children attending K-12 Wyoming public schools if they ask for them.

The mandate orders that people wear facemasks regardless of vaccination status.

The district has extended the mask mandate until at least Oct. 15, according to the district website.
