The bill would allow parents to get waivers from school face mask and vaccination mandates for their children attending K-12 Wyoming public schools if they ask for them.
The Cheyenne-Laramie County Health Department says the local COVID-19 transmission rate is high and is urging people to get vaccinated and wear face masks in indoor, public places.
State Public Health Officer Dr. Alexia Harrist said face coverings are essential as people can transmit the virus to others before they feel or show any symptoms.
