There Was a Minor Earthquake Between Thermopolis and Casper Today
I doubt anyone really felt this, but there was a minor earthquake between Thermopolis and Casper this morning.
According to the USGS, this quake registered a 2.3 and was located where the star is on the map.
The time stamp on the USGS page shows this quake happened around 8:04 am today. There are no reports from the USGS that anyone even felt this quake which isn't surprising considering the remote area it happened in.
It's a somewhat unusual location for a Wyoming quake as there are multitudes of shakers that happen in and around Yellowstone, but not normally in the central areas of the state.
Check out the official USGS page for the latest updates for this quake and others.
